Award

The Young Federal Litigation Lawyer of the Year award is given to a young lawyer who has made an outstanding contribution in the field of federal litigation and dispute resolution.

The award is given annually by the Federal Dispute Resolution Section of the Law Council of Australia.

Formerly known as the Commonwealth Law Conference, this newly renamed event will continue to bring together leading practitioners and members of the judiciary for seminars exploring the federal legal landscape as it stands in 2027.


From the evolving class action procedures to fresh constitutional challenges, shifting migration policy, and the rapid rise

of AI as both a tool and a regulatory target, these seminars will equip solicitors, barristers, in-house counsel and policymakers with a practical, up-to-date view of the areas reshaping federal practice.

This year's theme is "The Federal Edit 2027" What's changing, what's challenged, and what's coming—across litigation, employment, migration, and technology.
